Animarium, Sladovna’s unique paradise of animators, offers two professionally equipped animation studios, which are designed to teach everyone the practical basics of animation in a playful and fun way, regardless of age or technical skills. You can play, test and explore how a character and its environment are created as well as the ways it all comes to life. What happens at each step? That is entirely up to you. YOU are the creator, the author, the animator who can create YOUR OWN ANIMATED FILM. Animarium is here for you.
You can come by yourself or in a group (a group of friends / family / class...). During the school year, you can attend an animation club or come with your whole class to a special programme designed for schools. During the summer holidays, you can experience animation day camps. And throughout the year, we offer various workshops for your convenience.

The story of Animarium
Animárium at Sladovna Písek was created thanks to the support of the INTERREG V-A Austria-Czech Republic Programme. The Animation Now! project brought together two children's museums: Kindermuseum ZOOM Vienna – one of the most successful and oldest children's museums in Europe and Sladovna Písek – the largest gallery for children in the Czech Republic.
In addition to bringing the two institutions together and enabling them to learn from each other, the project had several other goals. The main goal was the creation of a new animation studio in Sladovna and the expansion of the Trickfilm animation studio in ZOOM in Vienna, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2021. Furthermore, another important goal was the creation of a high-quality cross-border network connecting educators and professionals in the field of film and audio-visual education. Both partners had the opportunity to experiment together, meet, learn from each other and work together on the concept of both studios.
