Fear is our age-old companion! We are born with it and encounter it throughout our lives. It is one of the four basic human emotions, just like joy, sadness and anger. It is not the enemy but rather a voice that warns us when we stand on the threshold of the unknown.

Let’s take an interest in our fears! Let’s learn to deal with them and share them with our loved ones. After all, fear is nothing to be ashamed of. Come and have a laugh at your fears, turn other people’s fears into your own, and discover that even fear can be a gateway to your own freedom. And courage? That is a firm step forward. Even when our knees are shaking. And that is why it is a capacity within each and every one of us.

Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid! is an exhibition about fear for young and old. It explores this remarkable phenomenon within the family, at home, at school, in the city or even in the countryside. The exhibition creates a space where children and adults learn to hear the echo of their own fears. Interactive installations, sound collages and architectural games transform fear into a map of experiences and a bucketful of fun. Visitors will discover that the unknown is not a threat, but an opportunity. That questions are bridges that lead us forward. Here, every treacherous shadow becomes a story, every hesitation the start of a journey.

The exhibition is inspired by the successful book of the same name, written by Milada Rezková and Lukáš Urbánek. It was first held at the Galerie Atrium in Prague’s Žižkov district. In 2023, it was also staged at the Drak Theater, in Hradec Králové.
